Welp, it's time to get back to blogging. I have ignored it for way too long. When I started this blog I did so to keep out of town family informed on our lives, since we are all so spread out. But I also like the fact that it is a diary of sorts. When I look back at old posts it reminds me of so many fun times. I realized that I need to get back to it, because I'm missing so much and I know, all to soon, I'll forget!
So on to the Weekend Round-up.....
My husband lost his job about a year ago, and after awhile, realized that he really didn't dig what he had been doing for the last 30+some years. So at 57 years old, he went back to school. Proof positive you CAN teach an old dog new tricks! He is now driving truck and he really enjoys it. I can't imagine sitting in a semi for 10-12 hours, but hey, to each his own. He finished school 5 weeks ago and has been training with a company in Central Ohio.
Since he has been traveling a lot, we definitely like to spend the weekends together. So when he asked me if I wanted to do some running around with him on Saturday, I happily agreed. About 20 minutes later we pulled into a Pilot truck stop. He had to get a CB radio and a few other things. As soon as he told me he needed a CB, the song Convoy popped into my head. I can't quit singing it. Here he is practicing.....OK not really, just playin.

Speaking of the hubs, he has been riding/driving with a trainer for 5 weeks. Today he was a free bird, on his own for the first time. He was given a truck to drive....picture below...
OK not really, but it would be cool seeing this bad boy going down the road, don't you think?
On a more serious note, I'm very proud of him! He is a great driver and seems to love it. AND, I will tell ya, if you and your husband aren't getting along or he's getting on your nerves, send him out in a semi for a week....does wonders for the marriage! Just sayin~
So after hearing about the issues the Hostess company is having, I thought I would treat myself to a Twinkie. Yea right.....I found nothing but empty shelves where Twinkies and HoHo's had once lived.

One bad thing about a husband who travels a lot is that I feel like I should cook on the weekends. Ugh...but it is better for both of us, and since we are both watching our weight I don't really mind. This weekend's speciality was home made spaghetti and meatballs. It was delish!
Sunday we laid around like slugs most of the day. We did watch the Nascar race and both my guys won.....I'm a huge Jeff Gordon fan and he won!! Just when my husband keeps telling me he is a "has been." Keslowski actually won the chase. I can't say I'm a big Blue Deuce fan, but I did NOT want to see Jimmy Johnson win AGAIN!
Back to the grindstone today but this week should be fun....
* It is a short week at work
* Tuesday, Travis comes home tomorrow from college
* Wednesday I get to see some my family
* Thursday I get to see more of the family and YUM....though we are not doing a traditional Thanksgiving dinner this year.
Wishing all a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
