Just Checking In!

Hello! It's been awhile I know! So much going on but just thought I would pop on and say hey!! Hope all is well with all of my readers, which I probably have almost lost by this point. I do seriously miss keeping up with my blog! I do ave a good excuse though, LOL. Well if you could call any excuse a good excuse.

I have been so busy with the job and it doesn't really afford me the time to keep up, BUT WORSE THAN THAT.....I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. Ewww, I'll have to post about what led up to the diagnosis, but for now I will tell you that I now have my bi-pap machine in hand and it is seriously my new BFF! I am sleeping so well all through the night. I still, at times, want to nap during the day. Like I took one both yesterday and today, but the respiratory therapist says it takes the body time to heal and I will feel like that. However, I am not the bone-tired, come home from work, plop on the couch and sleep for 2 hours tired that I was. I wake up feeling refreshed and have no problems with my drive to work. It seriously was getting to the point that I was nearly falling asleep on the way home from work, and having to pull over to take a small nap. That happened 3 times and I knew I was in trouble and either going to get killed or kill someone. So anyhow, things are good. I woke up today and cleaned the house, did the floors in the kitchen and bathroom, scrubbed the kitchen, ironed the new curtains for my living room, ...... LOL. Things I have not had the energy for in months. I'm comin' back people!!

Still not decorated for Christmas and debated about not putting up a tree at all, but to me, that is just the height of laziness in my case, and I will get it up. Travis will be coming home from college this week and I want to have the house decorated by the time he gets home.

Speaking of Travis in college, he is just rockin! He has a 3.4 GPA and with the caliber of his classes, we couldn't be more pleased! He will be working at Marion General Hospital while he is home and also spending New Years in Florida. Should be a good break for him.

John is doing good. Deep in the throes of home renovations. I'll have to post some pics. We are adding on a bathroom. John also had the house sided and replaced the windows. It looks great. Thanks honey!

Well that is it for me now. Give me a comment if you stop by! I would love to hear from you!!

Hello Blog World!

Well it has been awhile hasn't it? Jeez I don't even know where to begin! I'll start with the good stuff! Travis is in college at Miami University and is doing fantastic! He loves college. John and I went down this weekend and seeing him so focussed and goal oriented was just amazing. I mean seriously, I can't believe it is my son. He was so NOT that in high school. Grades came easily to him. Now he has to work at it but does so willingly! John and I were both just amazed. I know I said that but I can't think of another word.....amazed......thats it......

I started a new job in August working for the Battelle Corporation in Columbus and I love it. I'm working for my old boss from WorkMED, Deb, and that has just been a pleasure. The whole office is fun. I work for the Health Services Department and am the medical records custodian and senior office assistant. I have to say it is nice to have a job that is basically over at 5. I leave without a ton of stuff on my mind of things I have to accomplish, knowing there is no way humanly possible I could do it. This is more laid back, easy going, and the people are great! They are sending me to Utah......in January. OK I know, it will be chilly and I'm wondering why it can't be Key West, but whatever, LOL! I do have a commute of nearly an hour each way but so far it has not bothered me at all.

One thing though......I'm sick! I have the cold from hell! It sucks!! I can't breathe and keep coughing. I'm tired, and whatever, blah blah blah. I know you are all probably going through it as well. I hope it doesn't hang on for long. I'm so ready for it to leave me!

John is doing well. Same old same old. We have been doing some camping and that is always fun. John loves to camp! I love the campfires he builds, so it works, LOL!

Well thats about it for us. Hoping all is well for everyone!!

Have a GREAT DAY!!

CHANGES.......

So yet again I have been gone for some time! I don't know why really, because I do have a lot to write about. I think I really just haven't felt like writing about it all. Sooooo where to begin.....

I quit my job at OSI. I know, right??? Can you believe it?? Phew, after 6 years I decided to call it quits. I have a new job that I start on Monday with the Battelle Corporation in West Jefferson Ohio. When I say the job literally just landed in my lap, IT DID!! To be honest, I have been contemplating working outside the house for awhile now. With Travis going away to school (next week, OMG!!), and not in high school anymore, my social life will be in the toilet, LOL. His school functions WERE my social functions. Take that component out....and all I have is this boring life. I'm a transplant here in Waldo, and working from home does not lend itself to making new friends much. Sooooo, like I said I had been contemplating getting a job outside the house. One day my phone rang and it was Deb Cardlin, my boss at WorkMED in Youngstown, Ohio. We parted ways in 1999. She left WorkMED and moved to California. I left WorkMED and worked from home after a brief stint at Microsys Computing, (and dear Lord, I HATED THAT JOB AT MICROSYS)!!

Fast forward 10 years. I had heard Deb lived down in this area but was unable to get ahold of her. Anyway, one sunny day in June my phone rings and it is her. Her exact words to me were, I have a job that has your name all over it. I will be working for their Health Services Dept. It is a very complex job and to be honest, I know some, but not all so what I'll be doing will have to remain a mystery to everyone for awhile. I do know that I'll, be administrating physicals, drug screens, background checks, vaccinations, etc. It took awhile to make the decision to leave OSI, but seeing as they are offshoring alot of the work and alot is going to speech, and they are reorganizing quite a bit, I felt like the writing might be on the wall. Seems like middle management is the most expendable. That coupled with the fact that I truly loved working with Deb at WorkMED made the decision for me. The ONLY drawback, and one that has me extremely worried.....there is a commute, a commute of 40 minutes! Holy SH*T, what am I thinking??? I go from a commute across the hall to a commute on major freeways of 40 minutes. But when I weighed the pros versus the cons, everything pointed to go!!

Leaving OSI was bittersweet. I have made a lot of good friends there. I love, love, love my team. They are some of the greatest people. I think they were all in complete shock when i told them. It was a well kept secret, and I had to keep it for a long time while I went through a background check of my own. They are all nervous because of the changes that have been happening, but I truly think they will be fine. Lots are keeping in touch so far which has been great!! Gotta love facebook for that!!

Anyway, I start this new journey in my life on Monday. Next week will be a week full of firsts for me, with Travis leaving for college on Thursday, along with this new job, and me commuting to work. Please keep us in your thoughts! My biggest fear, by far, is dropping my son off at college the day before his 19th birthday, and pulling away. Ewwwww, I get poopy tummy just thinking about it. What happened to that sweet little baby I had 19 years ago? He's a man and it's time for him to make his own way, starting at Miami University. I'm so proud of my baby!

Well that's about it for us! I'll be back to more posting soon. I have been keeping up with all the blogs I follow and it is great to see all that is going on with all of you!!

Friday Night Observation......

Men with dirty, disgusting, skanky feet and disgustingly long toenails should never, EVER, EVER wear sandals to a restaurant, when nice people (like me) are trying to enjoy a meal. OK, that's all I'm really going to say about that........ Gotta go and try to clear the vision that has been etched into my brain forever!

Hello!!

Hey there everyone! Hope you are all well. I am back from a long and much-needed hiatus from blogging. I missed it though!! Tried to keep up with the blogs I follow though so I haven't completely lost touch!!

I am really bummed though! I had hoped to share some pictures with you and for some reason I cannot get them off of my camera and on to the computer. Whateva! I will figure it out and post some soon.

Sooooo, what's been going on with me you ask? Ok maybe you didn't ask, but I'm going to tell anyhow. We just got back from a weeklong vacation. We started out on Friday the 17th driving north to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We were there to celebrate my father's 80th birthday. My sister has a home on Lake Michigan, so 21 of us made the treck at one point or another, and it was wonderful celebrating in true "Moose" fashion. Moose is my dad's nickname, and he LOVES to party!! While there, we went to Mackinaw City, Travis and his friend Austin went to Mackinaw Island, we met up with a girl I work with who lives about 1/2 hour from my sister. I know, right???? Who lives up in the U.P.??? We also visited the town of Petoskey, which is just a quaint little seaside town. Besides that, we spent alot of evenings down by the beach where we built fires and, yes I must admit, downed refreshments.....

We left Michigan on Wednesday and drove 8 hours home. Did a few loads of laundry till 1 a.m. and then woke up early to leave for another 10 hour trip South to South Carolina. OMG YES, we are NUTS! John's son recently had a baby and we have been dying to see him, and so, well no time like the present right? We got there in time to meet them for dinner and see the precious little guy, along with John's granddaughter Madison and his son and daughter-in-law. Basically we just hung out while there, and ate way too much. It was a wonderful visit! John and Taylor are awesome hosts and ahhhh, what I wouldn't give to snuggle on that little baby again!!

So I definitely gained weight while on vacation, which actually sucks because I DID NOT NEED TO GAIN WEIGHT!! So I'm on a diet. Struggling but I'm workin it the best I can. Please keep me in your thoughts, because I really need to watch right now!! I swear to God I have no willpower.

There are some other things going on personally that I will talk about later this week, but for now I want to keep those to myself. Actually just till tomorrow, when I tell the people I have to tell and then I can tell the world! Good things......

Poor Jackson Gepperheimer was in the kennel for 10 days, bless his sweet little heart!! He was so darn happy to see us, and I could not wait to see his little self! He has been gettin lots of love and scritchin today!

We are T minus 4-weeks and counting till Travis leaves for school. I can't believe it is here already, and I really need to get busy and start getting stuff together!

Well that's about all I can think of for now! Hope you all have a wonderful day. I have missed the blogosphere. It's good to be back!!

Hey Everyone!! Updates ~

Well Jeesh, it has been awhile and for that I apologize! It's just, well, I didn't have much to say. Dear God, I didn't have much to say? I must be coming down with something.....let me check my temp....

Actually it has been quiet around here. Travis spent the week up at his dad's in Youngstown. I bit the bullet and let him drive up there. It was a nail-biting 3 hours but the fact is, he has been a little down since graduating and I think he needed the change of scenery. He did well and sounds like he has had a great week visiting family and friends from his old school. He will be back tomorrow and then we have a couple weeks till vacation, and then after that, a few weeks till he leaves for school. Crazy. This summer is going to go so fast!

The big news.....John's son had a baby boy on 6/16, Davis John. He is so precious! I can't wait to get my hands on him! I'll have to post some pictures. He is a big boy, so alert. He doesn't look like a newborn. Now John is chomping at the bit to make a road trip to South Carolina so we can see the little guy, and his son and DIL and Davis' big sister Madison.

Work has been crazy. My boss was let go at the beginning of the month so there have been lots of changes and uncertainty in our department. The higher-ups are doing their best to ease our minds with regards to our own jobs, and we are doing our best to ease the minds of our teams, but it does seem as though the mood has changed so to speak. Everyone seems a little down, or a little cautious maybe?

Tonight we are going to the G&R, Waldo's famous restaurant for Fried Bologna Sandwiches. LOL it is our claim to fame! Anyway, we are meeting some friends down there. I'm really looking forward to it. I have been in a funk so maybe this will get me out of it!

OHHHH and we got a new car!!!! Long story. I had leased a Mercury Milan 3 years ago and the lease was up. So we either had to buy that car (which I wanted to do) or get a new one. Of course the sales men make buying a new one sound so great. We ended up doing that, and I got a new Mercury Milan Premier. It has all the bells an whistles. However, they did not close out our lease before selling us the new car and so now we are fighting about a $1547 bill we were slapped with on the lease for mileage. Had we known this we would have just bought the other one. So we are disputing that but who knows. We feel they should have settled up on the old lease first so we knew exactly what we were looking at. Not sell us a new car and then say, Ohhhh by the way, you owe us $1547.....

At any rate, I love my new car. Leather seats, moon roof, it is white but kinda opaque. It has Sync, hands free phone that works from my cell phone. It has climate control too which I really like. I loved my old Milan and this one is great too! I just think they are a great car!

Well that's about it for us. Hope you all are doing well!! Have a GREAT WEEKEND!

Tuesday's at the Table

Carmelized Onion and Garlic Chicken
Today's TATT recipe is kind of a mixture of a couple recipes I found on the internet and combined. In an effort to eat more healthy, I have been trying alot of recipes with chicken lately and for some reason, boneless skinless thighs have caught my attention. I don't really like chicken all that much, but for some reason, boneless skinless thighs on the grill taste wonderful. Well I'm bored of that already, LOL. So I tried this and it was delish!!
I used 1 and 1/2 package of boneless skinless thighs.
2 T olive oil
2 large onions sliced
4 cloves garlic minced, or throw some already chopped garlic in there.
1/3 C of brown sugar
2 T. white wine vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
Put 2 T of olive oil in a frying pan and put the onions and garlic in. Cook, stirring for 10 minutes or until soft. Stir in sugar and vinegar and cook for an additional 6-7 minutes.
While that is cooking, spray a baking dish with Pam. Put your chicken in the baking dish and salt and pepper to taste. Spread the onion mixture over the top of the chicken and bake for 20-25 minutes. Cover loosely with foil if the onions are getting too dark towards the end of the cooking time. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Enjoy!!
Stop over to visit Cole at All The Small Stuff for more Tuesday's at the Table recipes.

Curious.....

I was just kinda curious.....Do any of your husbands or significant others get jealous of the time you spend on the computer?

I try not to play into it, but dang, every time he comes up and sees me on the computer I start getting the comments...."Oh there ya are" (said very snarky I might add), or "That's what you need to be doing." He just came up here and I was looking at my work newsletter online and said "There's what you should be doing" and I said, do you have any idea at all what I'm doing? He asked what and I said, not that I owe ya an explanation, but it is my work newsletter.

He fondly refers to Facebook as Assbook. OK that one did make me laugh, but still.

I honestly don't know why he gets like that. I try not to play into it at all, because, quite frankly, if I want to sit my a$$ at the computer all night long, I'm damn well gonna do it!

I do think he might think that because I work from home I spend the better part of my life in this office, and he cannot understand why I would want to be in here during my time off. What he doesn't understand is that just because he feels that way doesn't mean I have to feel that way.

I just love being on the computer. I so know that 99% of you reading this can relate to that comment or you would not be here :o) I love reading blogs, searching the internet, checking email, etc.

I was just curious.....

Well I'm off to read the rest of my favorite blogs, check out facebook, twitter, play on YoVille......That should put me off the computer around 10ish......Take that, bastage! JK!! JK!!

Weekend Round-Up x3

Hi!! I know I have been slacking in my blogging. I can't really put my finger on why. Is it because I don't really want to talk about what has been going on? Maybe if I avoid it, things didn't really or will not happen? It has been an emotional 3 weeks or so. All good things happening, but emotional just the same.

On May 24th Travis graduated. I was dreading it. So very proud and excited for him, and yet, I could not help but feeling like my baby is now grown up and moving on. He doesn't need the mama too much anymore. It was a beautiful day. My parents came down, his other grandparents, and his dad and step mom. I really did not cry till the end, when I looked across the stadium and saw his best friend's mom crying. How could I see this right? I could. She kept dabbing her eyes. Her husband passed away last year and it was so hard for her to see her son Kit graduating without his father there, understandably. So that is the only time I cried. Yep, I'm pretty proud, LOL. Below is a picture of Travis with Kit. As you can see, Kit was bawling his eyes out too :o)

We had a bit of a surprise in that he ended up being Salutatorian. His GPA was 3.96. So close to Valedictorian. We laugh because he did not loose his 4.0 on AP Calculus or anything like that. No, he lost it in Spanish.
Below is a picture from prom. He was prom King and this was with the Queen. I just thought they both looked so sweet in it.

So then came his party on June 6th. It seemed like everything that could go wrong did go wrong. However, in the end it all came together and we had a great time!!
This past Friday and yesterday we were at Miami University for orientation. What a great time! I think that Miami will be a great fit for Travis. He is excited and nervous. He was so upset about scheduling and what should he take and what should he not take. I just told him to chill out and relax. His life does not need to be decided today. That seemed to relax him. He has some tough courses and his schedule is spread out all over the day. That did not exite him in any way, shape, or form, LOL. Move in day is August 20th. The day before his birthday. That is my next day of dread, LOL. I'm thrilled for him to be moving on, honestly I am!
Today was a majorly lazy day for John and I. I have had to work, so in between checking emails I took a nap, and watched the Nascar race with him. It was nice. We have been so busy lately that it was a welcome break to lay around and veg. I'm looking forward to our vacation in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Should be a GREAT TIME!
OMG I lost 2 followers. I'm so sad! Ohhh well, hopefully they will come back someday.
I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Tuesday's At the Table

You know, every so often my hubby John G. gets a hankerin for some comfort food. This is one of his favorites. It is amazingly easy!!

CUBE STEAKS IN GRAVY

Spray a baking dish with Pam. Take 6 cube steaks and place them in the baking dish. Cover with 2 jars of Heinz Beef Gravy. You can make your own homemade gravy but I never do because I pretty much suck at that, LOL. Anyway, open a can of mushrooms and spread evenly over the gravy. You can also cut up onion and spread that on as well. Cover with foil and bake for at least 1 hour, but check it and see. It comes out very tender. I serve this with mashed potato's and corn or salad and we are all set.

Be sure to check out My Chihuahua Bites for more great recipes!!

Back From My Sabbatical

Hello! Long time no blog. I have seriously missed it! It has been a crazy 2 weeks and I'm glad I'm on the back side of the graduation and then the party. The party was this past weekend and it went off without a hitch! OK well there were a few hitches, but it was what it was and no one noticed any of the little things that went wrong.

So now on to bigger and better things. We have college orientation coming up! Dangggg, no time wasted!

Well I need to run for now, just wanted to send a quick hello! Talk to you all soon!

It is great fun to hop around, blog to blog to blog answering questions. Go figure!
Today's Question......Since I have graduation on the mind......
How many graduation parties are you invited to this year.....
And.....Does anyone have any neat ideas for gifts that are not obnoxiously expensive?
Of course I was invited to a zillion parties this year since Travis graduated and I have been giving each one $20 and guess what.....I'm slowly going broke!
I'll post more on the graduation festivities tomorrow. It has been alot of fun, and I'm soooo very proud of myself.....I've been keeping my emtions intact!!
Talk soon!

Melancholy

Yea, that's me today, Melancholy. Today was Travis' last day of high school. I can't believe it is here already. Seems like just yesterday I wrote this post. Wow this year just flew!! I can't believe how fast it went. It was a great year for him with many highs, and a few lows, but all in all things went well for him.

The other night, John and I stopped at McDonald's before a track meet. There was a mom there with her approximately 6-7 year old son. I watched them for awhile. He was fighting a bit because he didn't want to eat. Instead, he wanted to go into the play gym. That was sooooo me and Travis 10 years ago or so. The mom was totally annoyed, and I thought to myself, boy, not too long and she will be sitting where I am. Before I knew it the tears were streaming down my face. And then there is John. LOL. Sooooo not compassionate when it comes to these things. He looks at me and goes OMG STOP!! Personally I think it is better I get it out early, LOL. Maybe I'll be all cried out by graduation! Lord knows I'm so not pretty when I cry.

Don't get me wrong, I'm soooo happy for him and so proud of him. And it's not even that he is moving to college. I think it is so much deeper than that. It's kinda like God gives us children for just a little while to raise, and then it is time for them to move on and make a life for themselves. I get that, but it is also the part I'm having the toughest time with. My opportunity as a parent is basically done, and I guess I'm just not sure what this next phase will bring. Now I know once you are a parent you are always a parent, but what I'm saying is the opportunity to guide them, to teach them right from wrong, to get his sweet hugs and precious kisses, that is the part I'm missing! When he was little he thought I hung the moon. Now he knows better, LMBO! That age of innocence is gone.

I'm just a roller coaster of emotions right now. And contrary to this post, I AM enjoying the ride. The festivities have been GREAT. Today they had a big water balloon fight after school that ended with someone going to the hospital in an ambulance. Good times.....NOT! Tomorrow is Shatzapalooza, a big senior party at his friend's house. A few of us parents are going, just to make sure the food situation is cool. Friday my parents will be here for the weekend. My mom always helps me put things into perspective. We are going to get pedicures on Friday, that should be fun. And then Sunday is graduation. Wish me luck peeps! Hopefully by then I'll have my emotions under control!!

On another note, how about Dancing with the Stars???? Cute little Shawn Johnson won! Rebecca Jo, did you see that one coming???? I thought for sure it would be Gilles!

Hope you all have a wonderful night!!

I'm the Queen Mum!

OMG I am seriously the Queen Mum !!! I'm the mom of River Valley's 2009 Prom King. Yep, he was the Prom Prince last year, so he was promoted, LOL! What a fantastic way to end his senior year. I am really excited for him!

Prom was yesterday. I have included a few pictures. It was literally pouring rain in these pictures. The kids were on the front porch and the parents were under a tree snapping the pics. Good times!

This first one is Travis on our front porch.

This is Travis and his friend Kaitlin. His girlfriend is on a 3-week trip through Europe and he didn't want to miss his prom so ended up taking a good friend. I think her dress was sweet!

This is the group. The girl on the end in the black and white was Prom Queen.

Typical Travis.......always is sticking his tongue out in pictures!

Prom was at the Palace Theater in Marion and they did their Grand March (Where each couple walked across the stage and were announced, a great opportunity to see everyone) on the stage. Really pretty setting.

They were off to Cedar Point today. I'm sure he is exhausted. His wisdom teeth have been bothering him and when he called earlier saying they were on their way home he said his mouth was killing him.

Not much going on with John or I. I am just really working on scrapbooking and picture boards for the graduation party, graduation next weekend, and the graduation party that is coming up in 3 weeks. Soooo much to do and no time to do it!

Back to work tomorrow. The weekend flew! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Have I Told You I Love This Guy

Love him! That's all, just love him!

We went out to dinner tonight. You know it was just me and Travis for 9 years before I got remarried. Now, going out to dinner, just the 2 of us, doesn't happen, what with his busy social life and all. But tonight the opportunity presented itself. John has been out of town with work so when Trav got home from track he said "MOM, LETS GO EAT!!" Maybe I'm being sensitive because he is getting ready to graduate, but tonight's conversation was very reminiscent of the good old days when we used to go out years back. Get that boy talkin and he will tell you everything! Maybe even some stuff you really don't particularly care to hear! It is nice though, to hear all that is going on with him. What his thoughts are about the future, about graduation, about leaving his friends, and about leaving home. Anyway, I thank God for special times like these.

See ya tomorrow! Gotta go watch Lost!

Weekend RoundUp ~ New Windows

Just a quick update from the weekend.
Friday night we went to a track meet in Canal Winchester which is on the other side of Columbus. Every single year it pours rain on the way down, and every single year I pray it is cancelled, and it never is. So we are sitting there, and they say they saw lightning and that the athletes needed to return to their busses and the parents to their cars. While we are walking to the car the tornado sirens go off. They opened up the auditorium for us to wait out the tornado warning. You would think after that they would let us go home, but noooooo, the show must go on! They ran that track meet in the pouring rain. Travis said it felt like needles pelting him when he was running the 400. Those Canal Winchester people take their track meets really seriously, LOL. Fortunately, I found made a parking spot at the end of one of the aisles and we were able to watch the whole track meet from there. Ohhh sure, people kept pulling up next to me and blocking us and I told them to move on and go find their own illegal parking spot! Good times!!!!
Exciting News! My hubby worked on putting new windows in! This is him doing our kitchen window and sticking his tongue out at me. Nice, HUH?

This is looking out the hole that was our kitchen window out at the shed. Kinda funky to see a hole in your kitchen. I kept hoping no birds would fly in, and praying no spiders would crawl in. I can't wait till we are all done, but only 2 are done so far......10 more to go. Our house was built in 1973 and had the original windows. Half the screens were missing, etc. So it will be nice to be able to open the windows!!
This is Travis and his girlfriend Meredith. I have a thing for light eyes and dang, will ya look at those eyes??!!
Well thats about it for us! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Tuesday's at the Table

There are 2 meals that my husband makes that I just, 1) absolutely love, 2) cannot recreate. They are his chili and his meatloaf.

I try, and I fail, each and every time. But I'm so OK with it, because it sure doesn't hurt him to cook every once in awhile. In fact, we have a deal, I cook Monday through Thursday, go out to eat on Friday, and then he takes care of the meals Saturday and Sunday. So usually we eat out the whole weekend.....sadly, LOL. Actually that's not true, he is pretty good at grilling on Sundays. But I told him I don't even want to have to think meal preparation on the weekends, so he offered.

His chili is just a bowl full of chunky goodness with lots of meat, peppers, onions and tomatoes. Major Yummilicious!

His meatloaf is Rock Your Socks Off good! So without further ado, I give you......

JOHN'S MEATLOAF

1-1/2 pounds ground beef

2 eggs

1 roll of Ritz Crackers crushed

Heinz 57 sauce (no measurement, some for in the mix and some for the top)

small onion chopped

small green pepper chopped (half the time we leave this out because we don't have a green pepper)

Onion Salt and pepper to taste

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Add some Heinz 57 sauce to the mix. Once you place your meatloaf in your loaf pan, cover the top with Heinz 57 sauce as well. Bake in the oven for at least one hour. I like mine to brown up pretty good on the edges, because, well I pretty much like everything burned. So I call the ends, LOL! Try it, you are gonna love it!

Be sure to stop over to My Chiuhuahua Bites for more Tuesday's at the Table recipes!

So my back is feeling a little bit better! Well actually I would even go so far as to say 1/2 better!! Thanks for all of your well wishes. I had posted on Facebook something that looked like this:

Back = ouch = equals doctor appointment tomorrow for Drugs.

Here is how my lovely friends responded with nothing but these short, one-word answers.

Diva Kim: Yoga

Florence: Stretching

Sharon: Alcohol

LMBO! Actually I tried 2 of the 3 last night and Yoga was not one of them! No need for the doctor though, phew. I hate to go!

Have a great Tuesday all!

PS: Do you guys twitter? I opened an account. I think it is under Gepper524. I don't really know what I'm doing yet though. Can you reply to people?

Aloha Friday

Happy Friday!!!! Time for Aloha Friday! You know the drill. I ask a question and you answer :o)
My question for this week is really kind of a tough one I have been asking myself, and I thought it would be neat to get other people's perspective as well.
"Am I treating myself how I deserve to be treated?"
And my answer would be "Absolutely NOT!"

I have been thinking about this a lot this week! We started a Biggest Loser competition at work and I was thinking about the things I needed to do to accomplish my goal. Exercise was one of them, but my big excuse is I dont have time. The true problem is I dont MAKE time! So my goal for this week, and I start with baby steps, LOL, is to MAKE time for myself to exercise. I DESERVE IT! I DESERVE TO MEET MY WEIGHT LOSS GOALS and that is the first step in getting there!

Hop on over to An Island Life for more Aloha Friday questions.

It looks like it is going to be a beautiful weekend! Hope you all have a good one!

Tuesdays at the Table

Well it's that time again.....Tuesday's at the Table! For this week, I thought I would share the recipe of an appetizer that I absolutely LOVE. I make this a lot for the parties we go to, etc., and I have even made it for me and John to munch on for dinner when I haven't felt like cooking a big meal.
BUFFALO CHICKEN CHEESE DIP
2-10 ounce cans of chunk chicken breast drained.
2 8 ounce packages of cream cheese softened.
1 cup ranch dressing
3/4 cup Franks Red Hot Sauce
1-1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese.
Heat chicken and red hot sauce in a pan on the stove until heated through. Spread softened cream cheese in a 13x9 pan. Pour ranch dressing over this. Spread chicken mixture over top and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Top with cheddar cheese and bake and additional 5 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips.
For more exciting recipes, hop on over to My Chihuahua Bites!
So Travis' track meet was cancelled. Was it wrong that I was overjoyed? I mean it IS me who is complaining that these school related activities are coming to a very quick end here. But it is cold, and wet, and just not real nice here in Ohio.
My bloggy friend Rebecca Jo commented last night saying that she loves Dancing with the Stars this season and that since I thought it was boring, I should check out her review. I wanted to link over to it for any DWTS fans, because she has great insight!! I really enjoyed reading her take on the show. Check it out here.
Well that is about it for us! Hope you all have a wonderful evening!

Where Am I??? Not at the Beach, That's For Sure

Sorry I have been gone so long!!!! I have been neglecting my blog so badly! I have just been so busy with my son's upcoming graduation, finalizing details, shopping, scrapbooking, and then sadly there is work, which takes up another big chunk of my day, darn it, leaving me with little time to do the "fun" things! BUT I'M BACK!!!

I had the best weekend! On Friday my parents came down to see one of Travis' track meets. It was in Bellfontaine (which normal people would pronounce bell-fon-taine, but in Ohio it is pronounced bell-fountain. Weird, I KNOW!) Travis was supposed to run the 4x400, which he did, but they gave him a 1/2 hour notice that he would be running in the distance medley and would be running the mile. Dang, 4 times around the track for that one. Travis was nervous and was afraid he would not do well, and kept shaking his head, because he was not at all prepared. To hear him talk, I had these visions of everyone finished and him still having 2 laps to run, and finally crawling over the finish line, but that was not the case at all! He did fine. He didn't lose, that's for sure. There were like 4 people behind him. To be in shape like that, ya know?

Then on Saturday we went for a little road trip. We went to Miami University, which is the college my son will be attending in the fall. He has a friend that goes there, so we hooked up with her for lunch and then they walked around the campus and she showed him so many things. He was soooooo excited about it! My mom and I walked around quite a bit, and did some damage in the book store. Dad and John sat and people-watched. After that, my niece was playing in a softball tourney in Middletown Ohio which was only about 20 minutes from Miami, so we headed over there. Katie is an awesome baseball player and they won, not only their game but the entire tournament! We stayed there till about 8ish and then started on the 3 hour treck home. Boy were we tired! Sunday I just veged all day and caught up with some shows I had TIVO'd. My parents left at about 11 in the morning. I always hate when they leave. I love the mamma so much. OK and my dad too, although he did a lot of agitating this weekend, and sadly I was forced to retaliate!

So Travis and I had a conversation about him leaving me, which, as most of you know has been weighing heavily on my mind. I felt so bad because he said he was so worried about me for when he goes. I said, I don't want you to worry about me Trav. Although I will be sad to not see you everyday, I am TRULY excited for you! I WANT you to experience college and I WANT you to have the time of your life, with a whole lotta studying thrown in there! I hope he never loses track of his goals. He said he felt so much better. I'm glad he mentioned it because truly, I don't want him to waste 1 minute of his life worrying about if I will be OK when he goes. I'm sure I will be fine.....gulp..... hee hee, JK, JK!!!!

OK now on to other things.....SAY IT AIN'T SO............. Someone is clearly missing from this picture ~

Edie, did you really leave???? I have to do some research to see what is really going on here! Although she was a bad girl, I do think she added a lot to the show. This show is normally one of my must-sees, although not so much this year.
Well I must go get dinner ready and then Dancing with the Stars is on tonight. There is another show I'm bored with this season....major ho-hum if ya ask me. I hope you all have a wonderful evening!

Tuesday's At The Table

This is not something I'm having for dinner tonight but it is a great little breakfast casserole for when you have company. I live out of town and my parents and sister come to visit. This can be made the night before and then baked in the morning. It is really great, and I did just recently make it for dinner, and my guys just loved it! Enjoy!!

Breakfast Casserole

6-8 slices of bread broken up

1 lb sausage (I use Bob Evans Hot Sausage)

1 medium green pepper chopped

1 small onion chopped

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

6 eggs

2 cups of milk

Preheat oven to 350. Spray a 9x13 pan with Pam. Brown and drain the sausage with the pepper and onion. Tear bread into pieces and place in bottom of baking dish. Place sausage peppers and onions over bread. Sprinkle with cheese. Beat eggs and milk together and add salt and pepper to taste. Pour it in the baking dish, over the bread/sausage.

Back at 350 for approximately 35-40 minutes. Edges will brown and eggs should be set in the middle.

It is just yummy!

I've Been Pondering.......

Well with the big announcement that the eldest Dugger is going to have a baby of his own, and watching them all on the Today Show this morning, it got me to thinking about something.
And NO it is not the fact that when I look at Michelle Duggar I have this overwhelming urge to grab some scissors and give that woman a hair style. That must be the hairdresser in me!
Do you think that people like this take advantage? Advantage of what, I'm not sure. I mean, anyone could have 18 kids, but does that make them worthy of a zillion TV shows about themselves? Do you think they continued having kids BECAUSE of the perks and the kickbacks of doing shows like they do? Is another generation about to carry on the tradition?
It also reminds me of Jon and Kate plus 8. Now there is a family who has it made. Why??? Because they chose to have 8 kids. Now, to make their show interesting, I'm sure it is the Discovery Channel that paid for them to go to Disney World, and to Hawaii, and all of the other little trips they do, just to make that show a little more interesting. Personally I think the Goselin children are adorable, but Kate about drives me nuts. I hear they are having marital problems actually. It was on Perez Hilton's site not long ago, and usually where there is smoke, there is fire, but who knows. The way she shouts out orders at him, jeesh, that would drive me crazy. It's kinda "All about Kate" in her world anyway.
The biggest issue that got me thinking today is I see where the Octomom is going to have her own reality TV show. Personally I think this woman has mental issues and I think the doctor that impregnated her with 8 more fetus' to go along with the 6 children she had at home should have his medical license revoked. What was he thinking??? And who is taking care of these kids. American's tax dollars. And I wonder if they are also paying for her fake nails and botox lips. Ok I don't know if she gets botox so I'll rescind that comment, LOL! I can't help but think she got into this for the financial gain. She is just too gung ho on the TV circuit to not be.
Some might think I'm jealous, and maybe I am. OK definitely NOT of Octomom, but maybe the other 2. I mean I have worked hard to get what little I have in this world. Why doesn't Discovery want to do a show on me? We could name it "A Little Fat with A WHOLE LOTTA Stretch Marks" and my adoring audience can enjoy a day in my exciting life as a wife, mother, and medical transcriptionist? Sound interesting? Ummmm, that is a Big FAT NEGATORY!
Now would I say no to all of the perks, if I was in the same situation as the Duggar's or the Goselins? Hard to say? I mean if it is offered, why not take it. Maybe my feelings should be directed more at the creators of the shows than the people that are benefiting. What are your thoughts?

Happy Easter Everybody!!

Hello everyone and Happy Easter to All! I hope you are having a wonderful day. Here in Ohio it is beautiful, sunshiney, and just gorgeous outside, although I think it is kind of chilly out there!
John and I are cooking steaks on the grill, that is, if it works. I had a little accident a couple weeks ago. It is really kinda funny when I think about it now, but OMG I was majorly PIST off when it happened. Went out on the deck to let the dog out. Our deck needs some work and there is no rail on the sides, and it is also splitting in the middle. So when I turned to walk back inside I saw this fire lighter thingie sitting on the grill tray. I went to grab it and tripped over on the uneven wood on the deck. I came down like a ton of bricks! In doing so, I hit the grill, it rolled off the deck, onto its side. And I cut my hand in the process. So John is sitting in the living room, just basically an ouside door and a room away from me, and he hears NONE of this, LMBO. So I crawl up to the door, drag myself up and yell in, John, help!! So he goes whats the matter? Well I was kind of laughing and kind of stunned, and I'm like the grill rolled off the deck. He gets majorly PIST and starts yelling and OMG this and OMG that, and OMG I just fixed it, and I was like JOHN, I'M HURT!!! AND I'M BLEEDING!! I should have really said that part first, LOL. So really, mostly what was hurt was my feelings, and that he didn't even think of me, all he was thinking about was his damn grill. On his side though, I never mentioned I was hurt first so he had no idea. I honestly don't know what he thought!! Obviously though, I have not trained him correctly, because his first though should have been "Jeez Kim doesn't usually knock the grill off the deck for the hell of it, I sure hope she is OK!!!" So that is now my mission.....training John, LOL Ever hear that saying, YOU CAN'T TEACH AN OLD DOG NEW TRICKS? John might just be my old dog.....but we can always hope, right?
So anyway, back to today, we are running to the store, and that is about it! I hope to catch up on some of my Tivo'd shows today as well. I had my own little House marithon earlier this morning. OMG I love that show. Anyone watch? They Killed off Cutler, who I thought was great. He wanted off the show though. Travis said he got the opportunity to work with Obama and could not pass it up!
Travis is spending the day with his girlfriend and her family, going to church and then dinner. I'm trying to push the thought out of my brain that I'm already coming second to the girlfriend, LMBO. Actually I love his girlfriend. and I probably should have planned something as well. Maybe I'll make a dessert and invite them over. Or even better, maybe we can all go see a movie or something.
I'm still scrapbooking way, which is the reason I have not posted much this week. I have been scrapbooking all week and only have 6 pages done. Gawd! I think I better speed it up. One thing I have learned is that I really like scrapbooking and wish I would have done it eons ago!! Now my kid is all grown up. What the heck am I gonna scrapbook?
Well that's about it for me. I hope this week finds you well and that you all have a very blessed Easter!

PS: I still cannot see my signature! It's driving me CRAZY!!!

Tuesdays at the Table

Hi There and Welcome to Tuesday's at the Table. This is a fun little thing that Andrea over at My Chihuahua Bites started. Since I love to cook.....OK that was a big fat lie there, LMAO. I really don't like to cook all that much, only just a little bit, but I am always looking for new recipes for the fam, so I thought it might be fun to participate.
Travis told me last week that I am not an adventurous cook. and I said "Well listen ya little bastage I mean brat, You can always cook if you want something different!!" He has yet to take me up on that. He says his friends mom always has a cookbook out everytime he is over. OMG!! Can you even believe that crap! Little Miss Suzie Homemaker I am not!!
Anywhooo this weeks edition of Tuesday's at the Table brings us this recipe....
MEXICAN LASAGNE
1 pound of ground beef
1 jar (12 ounces) chunky salsa
6 corn tortillas (10 inch size)
1 can refried beans
1 cup sour cream (can use reduced fat)
1 package of pre-shredded Mexican Style cheese blend.
chopped fresh tomato, green onion for garnish.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Brown the ground beef. When browned stir in 1/2 cup of the salsa.
Spread the remaining salsa on the bottom of a 10 inch pie pan (deep dish, and I have also used a 9x13 pan but you have to play a little bit with the tortillas to make them fit the square dish). Top the salsa with 3 tortillas. Spread 1/2 of the beans on the tortillas, then 1/2 of the meat mixture, then 1/2 cup of sour cream, and then 1 cup of cheese. Top with the remaining 3 tortillas, and repeat layers. Save 1/4 cup of cheese.
Cover the pie pan loosely with foil and bake until it is hot and the cheese has melted, approximately 20-25 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes, then cut into wedges or spoon onto plates. Garnish with remaining cheese, chopped tomato, and green onion. Serves 6-8.
I hope you enjoy! Travis and John really liked this! Be sure to check out more recipes over at My Chihuahua Bites!
Soooo what else is new......I'm working with a close friend on designing Travis' graduation invitations. They are sooooo cool! Turning out awesome. And he did sign with a college last night. I'll have to post about that later! He is very excited though! I am too, in an "I'm going to miss the hell out of you when you go" sort of way!
That's about it here in the house of the beachbum wannabe's. Hope this Tuesday finds you all well!!
P.S. I take it you didn't like my extremely boring post on My Favorite Things yesterday. Not one single comment!! It's OK!!! I'll try to make them a little bit more exciting.

My Favorite Things Monday

Hello Everyone. Welcome to My Favorite Things Monday!

This week I'm back on make-up, LOL. No big surprise there since I love make-up. And is it weird that I love make-up and yet I hardly ever put any on? And I DO need it, trust me!

Two things I do use on a daily basis though are these....

And an eyeliner from Sephora called Electric Choc. It is kind of brown metallic looking and really cool. It basically matches everything.

So how is everyone today? We are still on the college search although I think Trav is close to making a decision. Phew, now we just have to figure out how to pay for it!

I hope you all have a great Monday!!

WEEKEND ROUND-UP

Hello there! I hope you all had a great weekend.

Before I go any further, I have an important question that I'm hoping you all will respond to. Can you see a signature in my posts? My blog makeover lady says she can see it, but I sure can't so thought I would ask you. I sure would like to see that evasive signature.

I woke up yesterday in Graduation Party Panic Mode. OMG his party is literally 9 weeks away. So much to do and I've never done anything big like this, so I'm really, really nervous about it. I just want it to be perfect for him! I started on his scrap book today, LMAO! Nothing like waiting till the last second! I have 2 pages done. 2 down 50 to go!

I went shopping at PersonalizationMall.com and ended up buying this.

I buy a lot of persoanlized gifts from this place. They have really neat frames and Christmas ornaments. John and I did one of these frames for our wedding and I just love it! Now I want to order some personalized candy bar wrappers. Anyone have any experience with these? Any recommendations? We are finalizing the menu and all the other little details. With my moms help, I hope we will be good to go!
John and I went out to dinner last night at the OK Cafe in Marion. It was wonderfully delish!! I want to submit it to Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, LOL. I am going to be ordering some of the side dishes for the graduation party from there. I figure the more we order, the better.
Today I took a stroll down memory lane looking at the pictures I want to include in the scrap book and on the boards for him. I have been down since. Seeing my mood slowly plummeting, and knowing he was in for some serious misery tonight if my mood didn't change wanted to get me out of my depressed mood as soon as possible, my husband did what any good husband would do, took me out for ice cream! It did hit the spot and the fact that we have all been hanging out chatting perked me up too!!
Well that's about it for my weekend. Hope I have not bored you to tears, LOL!!!

**Aloha Friday**

It's Aloha Friday again!!! The day we take it easy. I ask an question, and you answer! Easy Schmeasy!!

My question for today is this.....

Where is the farthest you have been from home?

For me it was England. We lived there for 3 years. While there we went to Wales, Ireland, Scotland, and Paris. I think that's it. I would love to go back, but not really right now, LOL. My son would love to go see where he was born. Someday I hope to take him.

Be sure to check out An Island Life for more Aloha Friday Posts.

OK, so do you like my blog makeover???? I'm really happy with it!! If you are looking to have a makeover, Lindsay from Designs by Splat was absolutely great to work with!! She kinda just knew what I wanted. Basically lazy beach, LOL! That picture reminds me of me and John, last time we went to the beach. We had a walkie talkie and there was one in my sisters house, and we were like "Beach to Base, Beach to Base.....our cooler needs refilled!!"

So did anyone watch the finale of ER? What did you think. That show was like an icon. I actually kinda sad that it is over. I'll miss it! It was neat watching the older characters and I'm glad they brought them back. I loved Dr. Lewis, and Dr. Green, and mmmmm I love me a little bita Dr. Ross! Yumitha!

Anyone doing anything fun this weekend. I have a track meet to go to tomorrow, and then just doing stuff getting ready for this upcoming graduation party we will be having. Jeez time is just flying by! Someone make it stop, just for a little while!

You all have a great weekend!

Changes Coming Soon and Thanksgiving Thursday

Hey there! I'm so stinkin excited! I had a blog make-over!! We are in the final stages of getting it together and it should be up within the next day or 2. OMG it looks so cute! Well in my opinion, LOL!

Its time for Thanksgiving Thursday.....

Hmmmm, things that I am thankful for....So many, how to pick, how to pick?
1. For the beautiful sun-shiney day outside. I sat outside for my conference calls I had today. Thankfully Jackson didn't bark and no one remarked about the birds chirping in the background. It was absolutely luxiurious. I think I was starting to get cabin fever. That said, I did hear there is snow in the forecast and 30 degree weather come Monday. *sniff* *sadness*
2. I am thankful to God. It seems like just when I need something the most, a door opens. It amazes me sometimgs. Now if he could only send some more scholarships and financial aid for my son for college *snort* JK!! Apparently I'm rich according to the FAFSA people and can afford to pay the better part of a $28,000 per year education! Whateva!
3. I am thankful for my hubby. I was such a major crabitha last night and he knew it (I'm totally stressing about this college thing and how we are going to afford it), and instead of playing off that (like we normally do, LOL) he just grabbed me in his arms and hugged me tight and told me he loved me. It was just the thing I needed right then and I'm thankful he realized it.
4. I'm thankful for a healthy family, parents, etc.!
Check out What a trip for more Thanksgiving Thursday stuff!!
Now on to other ramblings......Anyone watch Lost? Ok I do love it but I have to tell ya, I'M the one that is LOST this year, LOL! They keep switching back and forth between the past and present and even future, and quite frankly, I'm having trouble keeping up.
Grey's is on tonight, and also the series finale of ER. Dangggg I have watched that show for so long! The last few years I have TIVO'd it but I have followed it. I'll be sad to see it end.
Well thats about it for me today. Just think, the next time you see me and my blog, we could look totally different!!

Weekend Roundup

Hey everyone! Hope you have all had a great weekend and had a chance to rest up for the coming week! It has been a great weekend here in Waldo.

First of all, I keep forgetting to tell you all that John's son and his wife are going to have another baby! How cool is that?? Taylor will be having a baby boy sometime in June! They already have a 9 year old girl. Needless to say, this little guy came as a big surprise! I cannot wait to get my hands on a new baby. Too bad they live in South Carolina. So far away. But we will get a long weekend in with them, I'm sure.

Yesterday the Ohio Beaders had their 2nd Annual Bead Shop Hop. It was in Columbus and we seriously did our part to stimulate the economy! I bought some things with a few projects in mind so hopefully I will get to creating again. I'll post pictures when I'm done. We met some great people who work in the bead shops and even recruited a few newbies that were interested in joining the group!! Ohio Beaders is a great group! I have met some of my best friends through them.

Today we just hung out and cleaned. We are having our driveway and garage worked on pouring cement, etc. John had some serious cleaning out to do in the garage. They start work on it tomorrow. OMG I'm sure Jackson Gepperheimer will be going crazy. Since I work at home, his incessant barking will, in turn, drive me crazy. Ohhhh Joy, Can't Wait!! The end result will be worth it, but I'm thinking I better post a crabitha warning on the fridge for all to see, just in case.

Well that's about all for us. Wishing you all a fabulous week ahead!

Aloha Friday

Good Friday Afternoon!!! It is a beautiful day in Ohio. I'm sitting in my office and the sun shining through the window....such a great feeling!
Its Aloha Friday!!! This fun game was started by Kailani over at An Island Life. Friday is a day to take it easy and look forward to the weekend. In line with taking it easy, I ask a question and you post answer!!!
Today's question is this:
Were you named after anyone?

My answer is no, not with my first name. My middle name however, is my grandmother's first name, and my mother's middle name and I don't think that is a coinkydink!

So how is everyone? I have had a crazy week this week! Sooo so busy with work. No time for anything extra! I feel like I have been neglecting my blog!!

I am so looking forward to this weekend and relaxing....well sorta! Tomorrow Ohio Beaders has its annual Bead Shop Hop. We have 4 shops on the schedule for tomorrow. What is a Bead Shop Hop you ask? Well about 15 of us are getting together and we will visit 4 bead shops starting at 10 a.m. We will visit 2 in the morning, break for lunch then visit 2 more. All but one have offered us a discount. We will definitely be doing our part to stimulate the economy.

The rest of the weekend will just be pure relaxation.....well after I clean and do laundry. Ohhhh whateva!
